Returning from Los Angeles, Jay formed a band with bassist Jim and guitarist Jim called Allison Engine. AE received both college and commercial airplay across New England from their self produced CD, Critical Distance - a term used in the sound industry, and soon made the front page of New Hampshire's largest weekend entertainment section.
AE's first airplay came from Hollywood CA, at KCLA 99.3 Los Angeles, after a gig on the famed Sunset Strip, with a song called 'Poor Little Saturday', inspired by the Madeleine D'Engle story.
With college airplay from northern Maine to southern Connecticut, some of the commercial stations included WHJY Providence RI, WXEX Warwick RI, WPXC Hyannis MA, and WHOB Nashua NH.
Since playing colleges and venues like the Hard Rock Café, Mama Kin, the Charles Playhouse (Blue Man Group) - and even a televised telethon, we have been a studio project focusing on writing and exploring unique reworkings of old forgotten songs.
As a studio project we have collaborated with singers ranging in styles from folk to 80's hard rock & metal, and from Canada to California.
Since writing a promotional piece for Nashville recording artist Ayla Brown, landing a role in the Lifetime movie 'The Assault' (September 2014 debut), and receiving airplay on RelaxFreeRadio with our song 'Lift' in 2016, we hope to continue our progress with our musical partners.
